Science Experiments
"The more you know, the better questions you can ask." Ron Ritchhart, author of Making Thinking Visible
During our Air and Weather unit, our class focused on scientific processes, like observing, recording information, asking questions, and predicting. Along the way, students developed questions from our observations, based on the investigations I set up for them. We decided that some of their questions would make great experiments! Students formed groups, made a plan for testing their questions, and conducted their own experiments. They used iMovie to document the process, then learned to put their video clips together into short movies. Through this process, students are learning important skills for filming, editing, and putting together videos. With each project, they learn a bit more that they can then use the next time we use the app.
