There we were, adding the finishing touches to our kites. When we were done, we took them outside to fly them. We were so happy! we ran and we ran and we ran around the front lawn of Schroeder, and the kites flew! Whee! But, that wasn't our only mission. We were trying to think like scientists and figure out how our kites work. What makes them fly in the air? We will leave you hanging for now. If you think you know, leave a comment below!
Today we went to Morley Candy Factory on a field trip. We learned where choclate comes from and how it's made. We even got to see the assembly line and how the workers work together to make the chocolate candy. We saw a video of how chocolate is farmed from trees. We also got to shop for candy in the store. We had a budget of five dollars and we had to use mental math to keep track of how much we were spending. Everything was so yummy, it was hard to choose! Now, we get eat all our chocolate, but we hope we don't get the chocolate touch!
p.s. If you want to know about the chocolate touch, read the book The Chocolate Touch, by Patrick Skene Catling. Hi, my name is Sean. I like sports, like football, baseball, and soccer. I like going to school because you get to do all kinds of interesting stuff. We get to do Funky Friday Writing and you get to make your own books and you can make them up. I like reading long chapter books like Harry Potter. The thing I like more than Harry Potter is to run around a lot! And that is why I like sports, too, because in sports you run around a lot. Also, like to do subjects in school like gym, art, or media, because they are interesting too. And that's what I like about all the stuff! Bye!
Hi , My Name is Varun. I like to play and read. My favorite book is Oliver Twist. But my favorite series is Geronimo Stilton (I've almost read all of his books). Before I wrote this blog,I was in the middle of reading "Merry chirstmas Geronimo". Oliver Twist is written by a famous author named "Charles Dickens". He lived in 1800's. I have another book by Charles Dickens called Great Expectations. My favorite time at school is recess. At recess I like to play with my friends. I also like Math, science and social studies. I have a little brother who likes to do puzzles and is learning alphabets.
Hi! Guess who? It's us again! But this time, we're writing to you from inside a factory! Not the candy factory - we're going there on Friday. This is a toy factory! Do you want to know who the workers are? It's... us!!! Who do think the boss is? Mrs. Freeman! Today is school, we did something awesome. We actually got to see what it's like to be on an assembly line. We had to work together to make mazes. Each person had a different job, and we had to pass the maze on to the next worker when we were done. It was kind of a race. We had to see which group got done the fastest, and which had the neatest toys in the end. We noticed that the groups who finished last were the neatest.
Hi! My name is Madison. I am eight years old. I love school! My favorite part of school is art. I like it because you can make crafts and you get messy! I'm going to Disney World this summer. I'm very excited because I've never been there before. Some days we're going to the park, and some days we're just staying and going to the pool. They have water slides at the pool! And that's all about me!
As you know, we are studying weather. This week, we learned about a lot of tools that meteorologists use to predict what kind of weather is coming. The anemometer measures the speed of the wind, and the wind vane tells the direction the wind is blowing. The thermometer measures the temperature. Knowing the different types of clouds can also help you know what kind of weather is coming. And a rain gauge is used to measure how much precipitation there is. That one isn't in the picture, though, because it's outside measuring rain! |
AuthorThis blog is maintained as a collaboration between all students and myself. Each week, one student has the classroom job of "Blogger". That student helps decide subjects for our posts, as well as writing one blog post about him/herself. Archives
